Loki Series: What to Expect From This Upcoming Disney+ Show?

Loki Series seems to be the big key of Marvel that will seemingly open all their doors to the Multiverse. With a simple theft of Tesseract in the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki singlehandedly disturbed the equilibrium of time and created so many branched realities, which have now become impossible to contain. In this Trailer, we see Loki going to the Time Variance Authority which is headed by Morbius (Played by Owen Wilson).

The Time Variance Authority

Time Variance Authority is described as this bureaucratic organization which is responsible for keeping track of all the alternate realities, especially the ones which have been created by Loki. Bear in Mind, this Loki is the Loki we see from the First Avengers Movie, so he has not been through any of the events after that movie like Ragnarok or Endgame. The Time Variance authority was created by the Time Keepers and this section was usually referred to in the Fantastic Four Marvel comics. So it is highly plausible that they introduce connections with the Fantastic Four universe as it’s upcoming movie is going to be directed by John Watts, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far from Home. This might also indicate a possible connection to the Villain of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Kang The Conqueror. This Villain is known for his reliance on Time to wreak havoc and it will be interesting to see if he appears in Loki somehow. There have also been rumors that Gugu Mbatha Raw will be playing the role of Ravana Renslayer who is very close to Kang The Conqueror.

Rick and Morty Meets Loki

Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron is helming the show so it’s obvious that we are going to see loads of Rick and Morty references in Loki Series, which is as Meta as it ever gets to be honest. The bureaucracy, as I mentioned earlier, is going to be a big humor component of this show.  We can see, queues being arranged and papers being signed. In one scene Loki sits in a congested office and looks at a bunch of stacked papers highlighting everything he has said before. The officer calmly tells him that he has to sign all of these documents. We can also see in one of those papers, the variant number of this version of Loki, which further Indicates the extent of Branched Realities and multiple Lokis which now exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The showrunners have a long time to explore the potential of Loki as it has already been renewed for a season 2.

Different versions of Loki in Different Settings

Loki is seen in different timelines and different versions of Earth and other integral MCU locations are seen in a completely new avatar. In one scene, the entire city is turned to dust along with the Avenger’s tower and in a different scene we can see Loki as the ruler of Asgard, sitting on its throne. This might just be an in-depth view of a different Loki during Ragnarok and how he impersonated Odin. Loki is then seen going to these different timelines with Morbius and trying to hunt down the alternate Lokis in order to stop the Branched Realities. I can very well see this working in a Mandalorian format, where each episode was a different mission, but Marvel has a glaring task of setting up universes with this show so I think it’s going to be much more complex than that.

Female Loki?

Female Loki is another character that has been hyped up in these latest trailers. We can see her in a black hood wreaking havoc and lighting things on fire. Both the trailers had some footage of this Hooded character and in one scene, Loki can be seen talking with her in an alien environment. The chemistry between Male and Female Loki is going to a very interesting one. We also know that Loki is eventually going to show up in Thor: Love and Thunder, so this entire season will essentially serve as a setup for the kind of Loki we are going to see.
